Job 11, 12, and Luke 11

In Job 11, Job’s friend Zophar gives him a bunch of grief from his assumptions. In 12, Job fires back and answers him. I love what he says in verse 12; it reminds me of how big God is.

‘For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being. ‘

Job 12:10

Luke 11

Verse 9 reminds me to be persistent, to keep on searching. In verse 23, Jesus says anyone who isn’t with him is against him.

“Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me. “

Luke 11:23

That made me think, I need to be mindful of what I watch and listen to. Are the shows, music, books, and social media posts pulling me away from Christ? Are the authors of the content I take in Christ followers working with him or against him?

After today’s reading, I’m thinking T.G.I.F. should stand for Thank God it’s Forgiveness. Jesus is brought before Pilate and Herod. They don’t find anything they can execute him for. But there’s an angry, bloodthirsty…

This morning, I woke up thinking about an old friend I haven’t seen or talked to in years. I’m not sure why they crossed my mind, but then I read something in Exodus 30 that made me think of their name. I just felt the need to pray for them and their family. I hope…
