Unfit, but Not Unfinished

We’re chugging right along in reading the Bible through the year. Camping kept me from posting, but we are still on track. We started reading Philippians, and a couple of verses in chapters 1 and 2 stood out to me.

‘And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. ‘
Philippians 1:6

‘For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
Philippians 2:13

Most days, I feel unfit—as if I should be further along the path of Christlikeness. These verses remind me that I’m a work in progress. And what a great message Trent Tribe had on feeling unfit this week.

The story of the woman caught in adultery in John chapter 8 is one of Jesus’ most famous moments. But verse 12, 31-32 spoke to me. ‘Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you…
