Psalms 119, Part 3

Today’s reading was from Psalms 119:97-136. There are just so many great verses in the longest chapter of the Bible. Verse 97 opens up with the author stating he thinks about God’s instructions all day long. This would be a great habit to form. It would serve me well to meditate more on God’s Word than to scroll TikTok. A simple way to do this could be to set a daily reminder on my phone to pause and read a scripture verse, or even share a favorite verse with a friend each day. This little step can help keep God’s Word on my mind and make it easier to build this habit.

I especially like verses 105 and 133. I feel like we are all on a path that can go many ways, but if we meditate on God’s Word and apply it to our lives, we will be able to withstand any challenge that comes our way.

‘Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. ‘
Psalms 119:105

‘Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. ‘
Psalms 119:133

If I could slow down and pause before I act or react and reflect on these two verses, I could probably save myself some grief.

I’m writing this on a Friday, T.G.I.F. Thank God it’s Friday, we say. Most scholars believe Jesus was crucified on Friday. After today’s reading, I’m thinking T.G.I.F. should stand for Thank God it’s Forgiveness. Jesus is brought before Pilate and Herod. They don’t find anything they can execute him for. But there’s an angry, bloodthirsty…

Today’s reading of Romans 12 is an intense call to action. Paul pleads with us to give our bodies to God, in light of all that God has done for us, the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. He’s calling us to be living holy sacrifices and says that’s the way to worship him. I…

Several years ago, I was praying, and I felt like God was telling me to ‘follow the horse.’ Taking this literally, we have kept multiple horses, sometimes up to ten, primarily those from the racetrack. We aim to transform them into trail horses. This experience became a metaphor for my faith journey. As I worked…

“The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy.
