The Eternal Rock

We are still on track with our 1-year Bible plan. There’s a theme in today’s Old Testament readings: 2 Samuel 22, Psalm 18, and the verse of the day is Isaiah 26:4.

‘”The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May God, the Rock of my salvation, be exalted! ‘
2 Samuel 22:47

‘The Lord is my Rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my Rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
Psalms 18:2

‘Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. ‘
Isaiah 26:4

I need to remember these verses, no matter what challenges come my way. The Lord lives, I will trust Him, He is my Rock.

“Then the Lord said to us, Get moving” appears twice in Deuteronomy 2; it made me pause and think. In Deuteronomy, God tells His people to move forward in obedience and trust. • Confession and John 20

Yesterday, my youngest and I were in the truck running errands, and he brought up confession. He said a Sunday School teacher told him that Catholics believe the priest forgives people’s sins. I told him that wasn’t correct, that Catholics believe only God forgives sins. The Catholic Catechism states that only God forgives sins (CCC…

  • Acts 18

This morning, while I was reading Acts 18, verses 9 and 10 hit me pretty hard. Paul was in Corinth, and he’s already been beaten and stoned. Now, more people are opposing him; he must have felt uneasy. ‘9One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak…
