Checking our crops

Today’s verse of the day on the Bible app is Matthew 9:37-8, and the New Testament reading is Galatians 6.

‘He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.  So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”’
Matthew 9:37-38

‘Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.  So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. ‘
Galatians 6:8-9

Both readings mention the word ‘harvest’. The Spirit is leading me to focus more on pleasing the Spirit than on my own agenda. I need to reflect a bit more throughout the day. I wonder if I’m being a good worker in God’s fields. Was I productive today? Did I try to please the Spirit, or my own sinful nature today? What kinds of seeds am I sowing?
