Don’t be troubled, John 14

1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 27 “” am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. ‘
John 14:1,27

The world is crazier and more chaotic than ever. While reading John 14, I’m reminded that I shouldn’t be troubled, that I should trust God, and that we shouldn’t be afraid of whatever storms come our way. Christ is bigger than any storm or challenge we face. We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, not the storm.

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’
Philippians 4:6-7

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus. I trust in you, I trust Jesus. Lord, I pray for peace in our hearts, peace in the world, and a perfect tranquility that comes from Jesus that surpasses all understanding.

I like the contrast between the Roman Soldier’s humble faith, when he said, “Don’t trouble yourself; I’m not worthy for you to come in —just say the word, and my servant will be healed,” and the way he recognized absolute authority and treated Christ like a King. ‘When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning…

And verse 61 stuck out to me today. ‘Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.’ Psalms 119:61 When I was younger, I…

I love how God lets Adam name all the animals; it’s like he wants his input. I think that’s one of the cool things about God. I believe God is excited to see what we are going to do. I believe he wants us to share our ideas, thoughts, our highs and lows with him….
