Leviticus 7 and John 5

The rituals in Leviticus 7 were detailed, repetitive, and often costly—a heavy cycle of sacrifices to seek God’s forgiveness. But looking at John 5, the contrast is stunning. Because of Christ, we no longer carry the burden of the altar. We aren’t working to earn forgiveness; we are living out of the grace we’ve already received. We’ve moved from the duty of ritual to the freedom of devotion. But Christ says:

‘”I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. ‘
John 5:24

What a comforting promise this is from Jesus. Even when we struggle or feel uncertain, we can hold on to the assurance that our place with God is secure. Let this truth encourage us today—no matter what we face, God’s grace is more than enough. Jesus is the final sacrifice; he’s paid the ultimate price.

We believers who listen to Jesus’ message and believe in God already have eternal life. We’ve already passed from death to life; we have arrived. Praise God.
